Festival Music House (FMH) today announced the lineup for its fifth anniversary showcase, with a stellar lineup of Canadian musical talent set to rock the Toronto International Film Festival® (TIFF). Taking place on Sunday, Sept. 7 and Monday, Sept. 8 at Adelaide Hall (250 Adelaide St. W.), the invite-only event is an opportunity for film and television industry tastemakers to explore Canada’s wealth of world-class musical talent during the height of TIFF.
FMH has seen much success since starting at Toronto’s Roosevelt Room, and the model is now being replicated at the Atlantic Film Festival (Festival Music House Atlantic) and Vancouver International Film Festival (Festival Music House Vancouver).
“The majority of delegates at the Atlantic Film Festival come in from out of town, so, what better way to showcase what Atlantic Canada has to offer than by celebrating our music?” said Sheri Jones, Jones & Co. “We’re excited to introduce FMHA this year and can’t wait to see its impact.”
Performers at this year Toronto event include electric powwow group A Tribe Called Red, Toronto jazz trio BADBADNOTGOOD, two-time Juno Award-nominated singer-songwriter Bobby Bazini, synth-pop band DIANA, Operators, the new project from Dan Boeckner (Wolf Parade, Handsome Furs) and Vancouver indie rockers The New Pornographers. The full lineup is below.
“This year marks an incredible milestone for Festival Music House,” said Jeffrey Remedios, co-founder and president of Arts & Crafts Productions. “Since its inception five years ago, FMH has grown to be a must-see and now cross-country showcase that provides an unparalleled opportunity for Canadian musicians.”
Past FMH stages have featured performances from some of Canada’s most reputable musical talent, including K’NAAN, City and Colour, The Sheepdogs, Gord Downie, Dan Mangan and Stars. An elite networking opportunity and key event in the TIFF circuit, FMH consistently garners praise from VIPs and media alike and has been heralded year after year as one of TIFF’s best parties.
In collaboration with the Toronto International Film Festival Programming Team, FMH will co-curate the Sept. 5 stage of the Festival's newly announced Festival Street, taking over King St. W. on Sept. 4, 5, 6 and 7.
