Canada’s top musical talent will once again take the stage for the third annual Festival Music House, a three night concert taking place at the Mod Club on Monday, September 10, Tuesday, September 11 and Wednesday, September 12. Coinciding with the Toronto International Film Festival, the invite-only, intimate concert series provides a platform for seasoned and up-and-coming Canadian acts to perform for Festival delegates, music supervisors, producers, directors, writers and actors.
This year’s performers include critically-acclaimed songstress Kathleen Edwards (September 10), Adam Cohen, son of Canadian music legend Leonard Cohen (September 10), indie-folk-rock singer-songwriter Dan Mangan (September 11), and Toronto’s own six-piece rap rock band Down With Webster (September 12).
With no shortage of talent showcasing various genres, other musical highlights include indie pop band Young Empires, Juno-Award winning indie rockers Wintersleep, acoustic folk singer Jeremy Fisher, West Coast indie pop trio Hey Ocean! and iconic Toronto troubadour Jason Collett. The full lineup is listed below and can also be found at www.festivalmusichouse.com.
“We’re thrilled about the line-up for this year’s Festival Music House. Having created a laid-back, up-close environment, FMH showcases to visiting TIFF delegates just how amazing Canadian music truly is,” said Jeffrey Remedios, co-founder of Arts and Crafts Productions, who produces the event. “With FMH now in its third year, Canada’s reputation as a rich source of musical talent has grown considerably amongst the film community.”
Previous FMH performances have included some of Canada’s most important established and emerging talent, including Gord Downie, K’NAAN, Sam Roberts Band, City and Colour, Stars, Arkells, The Sheepdogs, Diamond Rings and many more. FMH has also been consistently hailed as one of the best, most highly-anticipated events during TIFF.
